I am a huge fan of bevs> I love drinking, toasting and tasting..especially Gin 😊

My love for Gin started in 2016. This was my first year of working in the ad world where I met some pretty cool people and was introduced to alcoholism.. Lol, Im kidding. Maybe not. My colleagues and I would sometimes leave the office to grab a drink and complain about life at the office and oh boy.. Gin seemed to lift the mood pretty well. We would try different cocktails, buy different bottles to take home and always had gin at the office bar on Fridays.

My love for Gin grew, still today, it is my top 1 spirit, better than vodka, better than rum. I love how gin just tastes.. in the hood , some people call it petrol, I call it God sent. What makes me love it even more is that it comes across as such a complex bev but.. it's not complicated to drink. Throw some ice in a glass, double shot (Always), and pour some tonic water to finish it off, DONE!. Its a perfect drink, for winter, summer, whenever. Oh and apparently it helps fight colds and flu.. the verdict is still out on that one.

So, this blog is basically a scrapbook of my favourite drink, the infamous Gin. I am starting my journey of collecting all proudly South African gin bottles that I have tasted and some that I haven't. Collecting bottles is just a start of my learning about Gin, the different kinds, the processes that go into gin making and ofcourse, meeting like minded people who just enjoy this good old spirit. I have been meaning to do this for a while now, but was letting procrastination get the better of me. Eventually I just said fuck it! Lets do this!

Every month we will buy a bottle, say what its about, feature a quick write up on the brand and maybe rate it on our drink o meter to see where it falls. PLEASE, I am no expert but I will let my palate and tastebuds be the judge!

Now this is a great task because there are already over 100 bottles of Gin brands in SA alone. But I will try be consistent and feature atleast one bottle a month, paired up with a beautiful cocktail recipe to open the throat!😉

Im sure you are wondering, Ntswaki seems so bougie, only drinking Gin. NO! I drink all kinds of Alcohol, but this collection will start with Gin, if we like how it goes, maybe we will start a collection of wine, maybe tequila, maybe vodka. But that will be a story for another day
